Morgan 14 Dunfermline 10
A LACKLUSTRE display by Dunfermline left the Premier League Division 3 promotion race wide open.
Despite their poor performance, the West Fifers returned with a losing bonus point which may prove invaluable in the coming weeks.
The Dunfermline set piece continued its rich vein of form and the defence was strong but the general inability to attack with any purpose or control resulted in them getting very few chances to score.
The opening moments saw both teams attempt to run the ball with neither getting any initiative.
However, the ball squirmed out from a ruck and the home team ran the length of the field to open the scoring.
The visitors tried to respond but were confined to poor field position through a series of basic errors and knock ons.
Eventually, they touched down when some good open field running by scrum half Bruton saw him link with his support and eventually Tommy McColl ploughed over.
Early in the second half Sky Laurie darted over for a second try and it looked like Dunfermline were about to go up a couple of gears.
But Morgan went straight down the field to capitalise on another series of mistakes from the visitors" back division.
On Saturday there is a re-arranged league match against Livingston at McKane with a 12pm kick-off.
