ABERDOUR Shinty Club lost 4-2 at Bute in South Division 2 on Saturday.
In the first half the home side seemed to be first to every ball, attacking and defending in numbers, and were worth their 3-0 half-time lead.
Aberdour dominated the second half and created more than enough chances to tie the match. Alister Shaw scored for Aberdour after 51 minutes and Doug Newsom hit the post. Bute looked dangerous on the break, however, and scored a fourth goal after 78 minutes.
Shaw scored the goal of the game on 90 minutes, volleying the ball into the top corner from 25 yards out, but it was just a consolation goal.
This Saturday Aberdour travel to Inveraray to take on the Scots regiment in the first round of the Bullough Cup.
