CRAIG Rodgie faces an anxious wait to find out if he'll be competing in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The Dalgety Bay swimmer (pictured) notched a Scottish record and qualifying time in the trials but must keep his fingers crossed for another month.

While Team Scotland has already selected 38 swimmers and two divers for Glasgow, the Para-sport swimmers must wait until 12th June.

That's just weeks before the action gets underway on 24th July and Rodgie will be hoping he gets the nod.

The S14 swimmer and Disability Sport Fife member took part in two events in the Scottish National Championships, which doubled up as the trials, and won both the 50m and 200m freestyle in his category. The latter swim was a Scottish record.

He also did well in the British Para International Swim Meet, also in Glasgow, but despite a personal best in the 100m backstroke, he missed out on the European Championship qualifying time by 14 one hundredths of a second.

Carnegie Swimming Club's Lucy Walkup has no selection worries and confirmation of her place in the GB deaf team for the European Swimming Championships in Saransk, Russia, next month.

She had set three new age group world records in the S15 classification for 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke at the Scottish National Short Course Championships in December.
