Carnegie club's top 20 in medals

TWENTY swimmers from the performance and junior performance squad of Carnegie Swimming Club competed at the Sunderland first open long course meet at the weekend.
Twelve-year-old Jordan Lamb had a successful weekend with gold medals in the 50m freestyle (29.65), 200m IM (2:36.86), 100m backstroke (1:08.45); silver in the 200m backstroke (2:30.76) and bronze in the 100m freestyle (1:04.01).
Team mate Lewis Kirby (13) won a gold in the 200m backstroke (2:25.82) and four silvers in the 200m butterfly (2:29.90), 100m butterfly (1:07.74), 400m IM (5:22.89) and 100m backstroke (1:10.40). He amassed 35 points over the weekend and picked up the Top 13yrs Boy award. His 200m backstroke time qualifies him for the ASA National BAGCAT to be held at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield from 22nd-26th July.
Euan McElwee (11) picked up silver in the 200m butterfly (2:53.96) while team mate Jack Szaranek won bronze in the 50m freestyle (31.89). Kieran Watson (14) won two silver medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke with times of 1:16.81 and 2:50.62 respectively.
Not to be outshone by the boys and swimming very well at the moment, 12-year-old Zoe Mitchell won gold medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke with times of 1:25.71 and 3:02.72 respectively and bronze in the 200m IM (2:40.46). Shannon Clark (14) won silver in the 200m breaststroke (2:55.28).
Missing out on gold by 1.13sec, 11-year-old Aimee Adam got a silver in the 100m butterfly (1:15.76) and bronze in the 200m freestyle (2:30.85) and 200m IM (2:49.66). Tiffany Barber (15) won bronze in the 100m butterfly (1:12.44).
