THE Pars will have to get the better of Premiership opposition if they are to reach the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

That's after the fifth round draw that yesterday pitted Allan Johnston's team with Hamilton Academical at East End Park next month.

Dunfermline won through to the fifth round after a 3-2 win at Alloa Athletic on Saturday and will now face Martin Canning's team over the weekend of February 11-12.

Accies are second bottom of the top flight but made it through their tie at Kilmarnock thanks to a last minute penalty from Rakish Bingham.

The teams last met in the Scottish Cup at the same stage four years ago and it was Hamilton who progressed, notching up a 2-0 win thanks to Stevie May and Jonathon Routledge.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes have priced Athletic as 50-1 shots to lift the trophy for the first time since 1968, with Celtic listed as favourites to be on the winners' podium at Hampden.

The full draw is:

Pars v Hamilton Academical

Ayr United or Queen's Park v Stirling Albion or Clyde

Celtic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle

East Fife v St Mirren

Raith Rovers or Hearts v Hibernian

Rangers v Morton

Ross County v Aberdeen

St Johnstone v Partick Thistle.
