PARS striker Ciaran Lafferty has left the club after his short-term contract expired.

The 19-year-old former Celtic youngster joined the Pars in August as a free agent after his release from the Hoops, but failed to appear for Athletic's first team.

He did feature throughout the campaign for John Potter's under-20s side, scoring once, but will now try his luck elsewhere.

A short club statement said: "Ciaran Lafferty has today left the club after his current deal expired.

"Lafferty signed for the club in August 2016 after being released from Celtic.

"Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic thanks Ciaran for his time with the club and wishes him well for the future."
