PARS fans can get a taste of what their current heroes and club legends enjoy rustling up in the kitchen at the Kingsgate Centre this weekend.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes Sir Alex Ferguson’s tastebuds flow, or how adventurous Allan Johnston is in the kitchen, then the Pars cookbook will have all the answers – and some tasty recipes.

Put together by the Dunfermline Athletic Heritage Trust, ‘Full Time’ brings together culinary flavours from board members, current and former players and supporters, ranging from hearty food from Fife to a touch of gastronomic flair from as far afield as Hungary, Lithuania and South Africa.

Current and ex-players including Callum Fordyce, Joe Cardle, Roy Barry and Bert Paton will be present at a book signing on Saturday at Waterstones from 11am-1.30pm and we’ve teamed up with the Heritage Trust to give away three copies of the book, which costs £10.

For your chance to win, just tell us which former Manchester United manager has a recipe of his favourite dish in the book?

Send your answers to Pars Cookbook Competition, Dunfermline Press, Forsyth House, Pitreavie Drive, Dunfermline, KY11 8US, to arrive by Thursday, March 9. The first three correct entries drawn will win a copy of the book.

Meanwhile, the SPFL have confirmed a new date for Athletic’s second league trip to Dundee United.

Dunfermline had been scheduled to travel to Tayside on March 25 but the game will now take place on Tuesday, April 11 due to United’s involvement in the Irn-Bru Cup final.
