DUNFERMLINE have secured the services of under-20s duo Stuart Morrison and Callum Smith on new contracts.

The teen stars have signed extensions to their existing deals that will keep them at East End Park until the summer of 2019.

Highly rated Morrison, 18, has been with the Pars since the age of eight and made his debut for the under-20s just days after his 15th birthday.

Last year he won his first call-ups to the Scotland under-19 squad while Smith, 17, made his first team bow as a 16-year-old in a Betfred Cup clash with Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the beginning of the campaign.

Speaking to the club's website, Morrison said: "I wasn't really expecting it because I had a year left on my contract. I was delighted when I found out that I was going to get an extra year, I am happy with that.

"I have another couple of years to develop and hopefully in that time I can push my way into the first team.

"I have had a good two, almost three years, playing there and I hope that I can make the step up to the next level next season."

Smith commented: "I didn`t expect to do as well as I did this season because I was out injured the year before but I came back flying and scoring goals every week. Then I got injured again not that long ago but came back again scoring a few goals. Hopefully I can keep it up into next season."

First team boss Allan Johnston added: "I am delighted to see them sign extensions as well, we have big plans for them. We see them having a big future in the game but they obviously have got to keep progressing as well. This year they have come on leaps and bounds and they just got to keep doing that.

"They are both young lads who have played a lot for the under-20s. They have had great experience and you just have to keep on developing them and hopefully get them as close to the first team as possible."
