LEE Ashcroft will be a Pars player for the next two seasons after signing a one-year contract extension.

Ashcroft arrived at East End Park on a two-year deal from Kilmarnock last summer, and has been an ever-present performer during the 2016/17 campaign.

The dominant centre-back has only missed one league game - against Hibs in August - as a result of suspension, and has accumulated a total of 45 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with four goals.

On Saturday evening Ashcroft was presented with the Garry Riddell Trophy as he was voted Players' Player of the Year.

The extension will bring great delight to Pars boss Allan Johnston, as he looks ahead to next season.
