Formerly a youth player with Rangers, Lochhead signed for Celtic in 2012 and represented the Hoops at under-20 level before joining Dundee United in 2014.
He was released by the Tannadice club and joined the Pars last July, and spent the latter half of the season on loan at Clyde.
He has made one first-team appearance for Dunfermline so far, coming on as a sub in a Betfred Cup loss at United in July.
