THE PARS will open the new Championship side at new boys Livingston after the fixtures were released by the SPFL this morning.

Allan Johnston's side will travel to the Tony Macaroni Arena to face the League One champions on August 5 as the bid to get their campaign off to a flying start.

Relegated Inverness Caledonian Thistle then come calling to East End Park a week later, while the eagerly anticipated first clash with bitter rivals Falkirk will take place on August 19 at home.

A trip to Dumbarton rounds off August while the first clash with Dundee United will be held at home on September 30.

Dunfermline go to the Falkirk Stadium on November 4 and a busy festive period will see them go to St Mirren on December 16, followed by games with promoted Brechin City (December 23, home) and Livingston (December 30, away) before Falkirk first foot on January 2.

A potentially crucical second trip to Tannadice will take place on March 24 while Athletic's final two games will see them travel to Inverness on April 21 before rounding off at home to Dumbarton seven days later.
