Pars swoop for defender

DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC have moved to try to fill the gap in the heart of their defence after signing Chris Higgins from Clyde.
The 23-year-old centre half, who is 6ft 1in and can also play left back, has been brought in after the departures of experienced stoppers Greg Shields, Scott Wilson and Scott Thomson.
Higgins started 37 matches last season and has been at the Bully Wee, who he joined from Motherwell, since 2005.
