ON-TRIAL hitman Sam Morrow is itching for a move back to Scotland but the striker has warned the Pars the deal must be right before he will sign on the dotted line.

The former Hibs player has been training at East End Park since December but manager Jim McIntyre is waiting to see him in first team action before he decides whether to make a deal.

The 24-year-old Irishman, who has also previously played for Livingston and Partick Thistle on loan, is currently a free agent after being made redundant by Derry City.

The club, who were under the charge of former Pars boss Stephen Kenny, were expelled from the League of Ireland after the FAI said they broke regulations by holding secondary, unofficial contracts with players.

Morrow told Press Sport, "I want to come back to Scotland but the deal has to be right, a lot of things have to be right, after moving home again then moving away.

"I haven't signed anywhere yet, I'm just on trial here, but I know I'll just have to work hard and see what happens and hopefully impress when I get the chance.

"I'm living in Edinburgh at the moment with my girlfriend.

"I would take a deal here but it has to be right as I'm not just coming over here to mess about.

"I want to put myself back on the map, get playing again and start scoring goals, but most of all enjoy myself."

The striker hopes to rediscover the form that saw him score a hat-trick in the 2008 League of Ireland Cup final, as well as being named man of the match, when Derry beat Wexford 6-1.

Morrow has also attracted interest from Aberdeen but revealed any communication with them is currently dead in the water.

"I am only 24 so I'm still young enough to make an impact.

"Everybody at Derry City is trying to find themselves a new club. You just have to pick yourself up and move on," Morrow added.

"I've been training at Dunfermline since before Christmas but went home for Christmas then couldn't get back over because of the snow.

"There was also interest from Aberdeen as they had booked me on a flight to come back across but then it got snowed off and I've never heard anything back.

"At the minute all I'm thinking about is trying to do well at Dunfermline."
