WING wizard Joe Cardle took his manager's snub to 'Heart' and produced a devastating display to show Jim McIntyre he shouldn't be dropped again.
The 23-year-old hit a double and unleashed his full frustration on the Jambos after letting the boss know he wasn't happy about being benched against Arbroath.
McIntyre said the winger had been "unplayable" at times and, if it was a piece of psychology from the boss, he's also played a blinder as he now has a player hell-bent on showing his worth.
Cardle said, "I spoke to the boss as he knows I wasn't happy about not starting on Saturday in our first competitive game.
"I was a bit upset I wasn't starting but that's what happens sometimes, if the boys are playing well he has to start them before other players."
The winger had picked up a knock before the match against Manchester United's kids and was itching for action.
"I came on against Aberdeen and then Arbroath but you can't beat starting a game and getting through my first full 90 minutes since last season was great.
"Hearts brought a nice crowd through and they've got top quality players so you want to step it up.
"I've got two goals on the scoresheet so I'm happy with my performance but I haven't set any goal targets.
"I did speak to my dad the other day about it, I hit eight goals last season but I just want to start as many games as possible.
"That's my target and once the games come in I'll maybe look at goal targets," he laughed.
McIntyre chose his moment wisely to unleash the winger, who never seems to be happy unless he's out tormenting a full back.
Cardle said, "The boss said I had to do the business on the pitch and told me if I did that I'd be starting more games. Hopefully that's what I did.
"The gaffer said I'm good going forward but I have to work on the defensive side too and I think I did that against Hearts.
"I'm still only 23 and I'm looking to learn every day on the training ground as I know there are parts of my game I have to work on."
Cardle was a constant threat against the SPL side and was gunning for his hat-trick, which would have been his third for the Pars.
"I was going for it but it didn't come off with the last kick of the game.
"I tried to dink it but probably should have laid it on for Kirky," he smiled.
"That's the way it goes though, you want to get your third goal."
On form, the winger has the ability to win games on his own and after the Hearts match McIntyre said, "I thought he was sensational tonight.
"What we're trying to improve with Joe is the end product, when he attracts two and three players he has to slip it to a team-mate and mix up his crosses.
"He used to just whip every cross in but now he's picking people out, floating a few in there, he's really stepped it up.
"I thought tonight at times he was unplayable."
