THE Pars have launched a new campaign, 'The Pars Need You' and a new Pars Discount Club scheme for all Pars fans.

A club spokesperson explained, "Like every other business or football club at present, the economic environment creates challenges to our business model.

"Not only has the club had to build an SPL infrastructure this season, in difficult times after four years in the First Division, but a number of factors have conspired against us in terms of kick-off times, injuries and a disappointing run of results at East End Park.

"All of these aspects have impacted on our home attendances. Like all clubs we have had our moments on the cash flow front over the years but events over the past week have unfortunately been amongst the worst for some time.

"The Rangers situation and the consequential implications for DAFC of not receiving our home gate receipts were unforeseen, so closely following the loss of revenue from the Kilmarnock home game and the disappointment of losing our cup replay against Inverness.

"We are actively trying to seek recompense for the Kilmarnock and Rangers revenues but this will unfortunately take time at best, which does not help with our cash flow in the meantime.

"DAFC's new Pars Discount Club, available to join from today and initially up until 31st March, from only £500 per person, offers a range of discounts between 10 and 15 per cent from DAFC goods, including 12/13 season tickets.

"This product has been designed specifically to help the club through the unexpected Rangers ticketing shortfall and loss of income from the rescheduled Kilmarnock match and it is hoped that many fans will be attracted to helping out in this way.

"With times being hard for everyone and money so tight, fans are looking to pick and choose and seek value, so we are providing a solution to assist both fans and the club, by providing valuable working capital at this time.

"The club does not carry any bank debt but with the loss of the Rangers game receipts we are still faced with bills and creditors to pay, including HMRC.

"Our loyal fans provided a lot of good feedback late last year, following our earlier appeal as a means to improve communication between the club and its supporters, so the board are now pleased to be putting a number of these suggestions in place, along with other measures."

Jim Leishman, director of football, said, "The board are working tirelessly behind the scenes to sustain an SPL infrastructure but to assist with cashflow in the meantime we urgently need to maximise our income.

"For that reason, can I urge all of our loyal fans to support the 'Pars Need You' campaign, by joining our our new Pars Discount club or any of the various initiatives the Club promote.

"I fully appreciate times are tough for many fans and families in West Fife at present and this has a knock-on effect on this proud community football club but your further support at this time would really help us.

"All the club's fund-raising initiatives will now be promoted under the new 'The Pars Need You' banner which will be supported by a number of Pars legends, to provide a focus to our marketing activity.

"We are determined to face this challenge head-on and the board are tirelessly working on longer-term financial initiatives designed to support the club.

"However, to assist with our short-term cash flow we hope to attract the support of our loyal fans by asking them to take advantage of the following 'The Pars Need You'initiatives:

"Our new Pars Discount Club, available to join from today onwards, offers between 10 to 15 per cent discounts from DAFC's 12/13 season ticket, matchday hospitality and all DAFC events with immediate effect, plus Season 12/13 player sponsorships - call our shop on 745900 to join.

"Full details of our new Pars Discount Club can be found on www.dafc.co.uk

"Our five-match multi-ticket offer for remaining home games, with great discounts to be gained for fans and their family and friends - contact the ticket office on 745909.

"A further promotion of our new lottery scheme the Pars Club Draw - www.theparsclubdraw which generates a fantastic amount of revenue back to the club - contact Shirley on 745964.

"Our existing Pars Executive Club - a long-term sponsorship scheme, is now available to join at £5000 up front and £5000 in six months - contact Karen Masterton for further details, email karen@dafc.co.uk
