Ex-Jambo Kirk is gunning for Hibs
STRIKER Andy Kirk is desperate to add to his Easter Road goal tally and fire the Pars to Premier League safety.
The Northern Irishman notched at Hibs' home ground when he starred for their bitter Edinburgh rivals Hearts.
Now he wants to repeat his goalscoring feats when Dunfermline visit Leith this Monday night looking for victory in match that could decide their Premier League future.
Kirk said, "I've scored one or two at Easter Road and it would be good to add another one and get another couple before the end of the season.
"Obviously I have a history with Hibs having played for Hearts. At the minute I'm playing for Dunfermline and it's a massive game for the club to try and keep us in the division.
"That is my main focus and it doesn't matter who we're playing as long as we get the results we need that keeps us in the SPL."
Kirk seems to be hitting the goal trail at the right time, nodding home a vital equaliser in the 4-4 draw at St Mirren then hitting the target twice against Aberdeen at East End Park, taking his season's tally to 12.
He continued, "I think people have written us off all season and to be fair at times we've shot ourselves in the foot by being ahead in games and then conceding goals. We have given ourselves a mountain to climb.
"Hibs have got the advantage at the minute but we've got a real boost from the result against Aberdeen and if we could go and get another result straight away, as what we haven't done all season is get back to back wins, then it adds more pressure to Hibs again.
"Hopefully things are maybe starting to click and we can put a run of results together and get a bit of luck that's deserted us so far this year.
"You never know as things can change in football very, very quickly."
