RYAN SCULLY produced a terrific performance to earn the Pars a scoreless draw with Hibernian tonight.

The Athletic keeper pulled off a string of saves, including a first half penalty, to preserve a clean sheet in a performance that showed plenty of positives for the home crowd.

Jim Jefferies named a strong line-up for the Pars' only scheduled home friendly and despite a promising start that saw Andy Stirling link well with Michael Moffat to shoot into the side-net, were forced into a change after only seven minutes.

Faissal El Bakhtaoui took a knock in trying to prevent a throw and Ryan Wallace made a welcome return after missing last season's play-offs with a hernia problem.

But just two minutes later, the Edinburgh side were awarded a penalty when Scott Robinson was pulled back by Ross Forbes . Liam Craig took the kick but Scully, back on loan from Partick Thistle, dived to his right to produce a fine save and keep the scoreline blank.

The Pars were looking tidy at times in posession, with Stirling showing signs of promise, but it was Stubbs' team who fashioned the opening period's best chances.

Scully produced another good save from Danny Handling before a looping header from the rebound went over the bar on 19 minutes as Hibs continued on the offensive.

The Pars stopper was called on again nine minutes later to save well from Owain Tudor Jones before Lewis Stevenson immediately put the ball into the net, only for referee Stephen Finnie to award a foul for a shirt pull on Ross Millen.

Another neatly worked Hibees move saw Jones and Stevenson combine to set up Handling, but once more was equal to the shot.

Jefferies replaced Andy Geggan, Forbes and Stirling with Ryan Thomson, Jonathan Page and Shaun Byrne at the interval but it was the men in green who had the second half's opening chance; Craig's driven shot from the left edge of the area being deflected away from goal by a Pars head.

Jordan Forster was next to go close for the visitors with a header wide before Scully produced a sensational one-handed save to deny Stevenson from eight yards out.

Hibs youngster went close on 61 minutes by capitalising on Alex Whittle failing to deal with a through ball but he shot narrowly wide, before a Tudor Jones through ball picked out Craig only for Scully to come to Pars' rescue once more.

Substitute Lewis Spence was fortunate not to concede a penalty for handball on 67 minutes before the Pars finally applied some pressure in the latter stages.

Kerr Young headed wide at the far post from a Spence free-kick before a superb cross-field run by Ryan Williamson saw him find Ross Drummond.

The left back's cross found Allan Smith, who pulled the ball back for Michael Moffat but his shot was blocked wide.

Moffat went even closer with three minutes left, forcing an excellent save from Kleton Perntreau, and although Byrne knocked the rebound in, he was flagged offside and a good workout for the Pars ended goalless.
