ONE of the last Pars shirts ever worn by Norrie McCathie has raised £875 in an auction.

And it's helped push the total amount of money raised by Marvyn Stewart's supporters shop at East End Park over £26,000.

The Dunfermline red and blue away top from season 1995-96, with McCathie's number four on the back, was purchased recently. The Pars captain died on 8th January 1996 at the age of just 34.

Marvyn (pictured) said, "It was an amazing amount of money and it's helped us to raise over £26,000 for the club.

"It's tailed off a wee bit but we're still getting some lovely bits and pieces donated, we had a 2003 top signed by Craig Brewster and Stevie Crawford, and that's great credit to the fans.

"We've been able to assist the club and gave £750 towards getting the players entrance and tunnel done up.

"When they come in, there's now a big pic of Jock Stein with 'Without fans who pay at the turnstile, football is nothing' and the last thing they see before they go out on the pitch is Norrie's pic which says 'If you don't want to play for the jersey, stay in the dressing room'.

"That's got to inspire them!"
