THE annual Pars Supporters Trust golf day teed up a cash boost of £2500 for the club at Dunfermline Golf Club on Friday 12th September.

A total of 68 golfers took part in the event after teams of three were invited to compete in the 'Texas Scramble', with each side allocated a Pars 'celebrity' to make up the fourball.

Former Pars players from every decade since the 1950s were represented, from John Sweeney, who signed for the club in 1954, to Scott Thomson, who captained the side until 2008. Former managers Jim Leishman and Jimmy Calderwood also took part while current players Alex Whittle and Ross Millen presented the prizes.

PST chair Margaret Ross said, "It was great to see so many of our ex-players getting together in such a relaxed and informal event like the golf day. I'm sure all the teams enjoyed hearing the stories of their golfing partners for the day. However, none of this would have been possible without the generosity of Dunfermline Golf Club, who gave us exclusive use of the course for the morning, and the numerous local businesses who donated prizes for the golf and a raffle, not to mention all those who took part. As a result, we've managed to raise almost £2500 which will ultimately end up in the DAFC coffers."
