A PETERHEAD player who launched into a foul-mouthed Twitter tirade after last month’s firey clash with the Pars has been banned for two matches.
Injured striker Andy Rodgers used the social media site to attack midfielder Josh Falkingham after he was the victim of two crunching tackles that resulted in Jamie Redman and Steven Noble being ordered off in an explosive first half.
Jordon Brown then followed his team-mates in heading for an early bath for striking Gregor Buchanan during Athletic’s 3-0 win but former Falkirk player Rodgers laid into Falkingham online just hours after the match, commenting, “Positive from today is that at least I’m not Josh Falkingham...what a horrible cheating ******** of a boy!!!!!” He then went on to refer to people from Dunfermline as “creatures” and “mutants” before closing his account after supporters reacted to his comments, which were investigated by SFA disciplinary bosses.
New SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan confirmed the suspension last Thursday but it will be cleared in time for Athletic’s trip to play the Blue Toon at Balmoor on 8th November.
