BURGEONING stars in the Fife Soccer 7s enjoyed a memorable end to the season as they were treated to a trip to East End Park.

A total of 500 players and parents were invited to attend the Pars’ League One match with Morton last month and although events on the pitch ended in disappointment as the visitors claimed a 2-1 win, Fife Soccer 7s chairman Andi Campbell said the kids had enjoyed a “fantastic day”.

He said, On behalf of the Fife Soccer 7s I would like to thank DAFC and The Pars Foundation in recognising the link up with the Fife Soccer 7s and forging our partnership in the community. The kids particularly liked the signed footballs being thrown into our section. We are all looking forward to next season already and working with DAFC and The Pars Foundation again.” As a special gesture, 11 Soccer 7s players were offered the chance to be mascots for the day while at half-time, the Soccer 7s fair play awards were presented to Cairneyhill 05s, Bayside Bullets 04s and Crossford 03s.

Kelly Armstrong, Pars Foundation manager, said, “It was fantastic to see all the young players at East End Park and we look forward to offering similar initiatives throughout the season. Andi Campbell and his team do a fantastic job running Fife Soccer 7s and it was good to be able to give something back to them as they all put a lot of their own time, energy and effort in to ensure that Fife Soccer 7s is one of the best leagues in the country.” Pars director Ross McArthur added, “Our club and The Pars Foundation have been working closely with Fife Soccer 7s over the last few months, to build closer links in the community and we were again delighted to welcome players from most of the Soccer 7s teams to East End Park.”
