PARS stars Josh Falkingham and Alex Whittle went wild in the aisles recently in aid of Dunfermline Foodbank.

The club teamed up with the new Tesco Fire Station store and the Trussel Trust to take part in a ‘trolley dash’ challenge, Falkingham and Whittle taking on a team from Tesco.

Pushing the Pars trolley, Whittle displayed remarkable pace and skill weaving his way round the aisles while Falkingham held the shopping list and kept the Pars Team on time and ensured as much as possible was put in the trolley.

The Pars Team came out on top at the end of the five-minute dash but the fun event proved a big winner for the Trussel Trust, who operate the Dunfermline Foodbank.

Pars director Ross McArthur said, “DAFC is proud to play its part in supporting our wider community, especially those worse off than ourselves and particularly at this time of year when we all too easily take things for granted. It is humbling to see what the Trussel Trust is achieving. I would like to thank store manager Richard Moir once again for his assistance with this initiative, amongst other things, and the rest of the staff and customers at Tesco Fire Station on the day who supported us on the day. As ever, Josh and Alex were fantastic and entered into the fun of it, and I have to highlight that the players themselves each made donations towards the trolley dash, which was a lovely gesture. That said, the players did such a good job of collecting groceries that they went way over budget - and there is no prize for guessing who was left to bail them out!” A full foodbank list can be downloaded by visiting www.dunfermline.foodbank.org.uk and donations can be made at East End Park at the DASC Supporters Office from 12-2pm, Pars Wash, the Pars Supporters Trust table on matchdays or at the club shop.
