THE PARS have confirmed that they will take on Cowdenbeath in a benefit match for grieving Blue Brazil defender Dean Brett (pictured).

The 22-year-old full back was left heartbroken last week when his partner Gemma (22) died following a battle with cancer just six months after the couple lost baby Mollie, who died after being born prematurely with sister Mia.

With both clubs out of the Scottish Cup, it has been confirmed that they will go head-to-head on Saturday 7th February in a Fife Cup semi-final tie at Central Park.

The gate receipts from the game, which will be played on an under-20 basis with five over-age players allowed, will be split equally between the Mia Brett fund - set up to support Dean and his family - and the Fife Football Association.

Entry to the match will be £5 for adults and £3 for under-16s and OAPs and kicks off at 2pm.

Any Pars supporters unable to attend but would still like to make a contribution can do so via the Pars Supporters Trust, who have offered to facilitiate the collection of any donations through its bank account.

Supporters wishing to donate can transfer money via the PST Bank of Scotland account number 00662309 sort code 80-06-55, with the reference 'Dean Brett' along with your name.
