Kingsgate unplugged

VAL VERDE, Bruce and Jamie Watson and Stevie Agnew are just a few acts performing at the Kingsgate Shopping Centre throughout July for a special cause.

They will help raise money for the Mary Leishman Foundation after centre manager Neil Mackie decided to put on the unplugged shows after being inspired by Jim Leishman"s recent 81-mile "Dander for Mary".

He said, 'I wanted to make it more a community event and so bringing the Mary Leishman Foundation on board is a great way of doing that.

'I think what the Foundation is doing is absolutely brilliant, but it"s also about keeping her memory alive and putting things back into the community.'

He added, 'The centre has great acoustics and it should sound fantastic.'

The unplugged shows will be held in the atrium area near Debenham"s each Saturday throughout July at 1pm and 3pm.

This Saturday (4th July): Val Verde, The Crayons; 11th: Stevie Agnew, Nine Circles; 18th: a string quartet (tbc); 25th: Bruce and Jamie Watson, The Shine.
