THE hit West End musical 'Thriller Live’ returns to Dunfermline tonight with two stars of TV talent contests celebrating the life and music of Michael Jackson.

X Factor's Rachel Adedeji and former child star Cleo Higgins, who returned to the spotlight in The Voice, are looking forward to their Dunfermline run.

Rachel (22) told Press:ON this week said, “I joined 'Thriller Live’ in September and time’s flown by since.

“It’s been great fun. I get to do what I want to do every day which is to perform. We’ve been to Germany, Italy, pretty much all over Europe. It’s the first West End musical I’ve been in but hopefully not the last.” Rachel has happy memories of her time on X-Factor in 2009 when she was a finalist alongside Olly Murs, John and Edward and the eventual winner Joe McElderry.

She said, “It’s been great for me. When I went on the show I didn’t really know what to expect and I was so young at the time. I was just 17 when I auditioned.

“It was an eye-opener for me but it helped me reach that realisation of a music career. It’s helped me along the way. There’s a lot of things I’m doing now like Thriller that I don’t think I would be doing without participating in that show.

“It was my first real experience of the music industry. There was a lot of pressure and it’s a very scary thing to do.

"You’re just allowing people to have an insight into your life and exposing yourself to that. You’re thinking you’ve got to do things the correct way but the experience was good for me because singing and being a performer is what I want to do." Almost five years after his death, the Prince of Pop remains as popular as ever as was seen with his recent UK album charts number one.

Rachel said, “I think everybody loves the music of Michael Jackson. It’s wicked. To take part in this show has just brought it home just what a star he was.

"We’re all putting on a show as a cast and to think this man did it all himself. It’s amazing.

“I enjoying doing what I’m doing because I’m touching the audiences with his music as I’m performing it and they love Michael Jackson just as much as I do.

“It’s great working along with Cleo and seeing her take on it. We’re so very different and have our own way of doing it. I can’t wait to perform in Dunfermline. I’m so excited now.” * 'Thriller Live’ runs at the Alhambra from tonight (Thursday) until Saturday, when there is also a matinee at 2.30pm.
