THE sing-a-long classic hits from one of country music’s biggest stars are coming to Dunfermline tonight (Saturday) with the Dolly Parton Show.
Paying tribute to one of the greatest icons of popular music, the stunning vocals of Andrea Pattison will backed by a live four-piece band in a one-night performance at the Alhambra Theatre.
The talented singer is able to closely mimic Dolly’s unmistakable sound and phrasing, as well as her renowned onstage wit and charm.
You can expect to hear rousing renditions of Dolly’s most celebrated material, from her early country classics such as Coat of Many Colours through to her later smash hits such as Islands in the Stream, Jolene and 9 to 5.
Andrea has performed as Dolly all over the UK, with recent highlights including sell-out performances at Glasgow Pavilion and the Edinburgh Fringe.
As well as celebrating the life and music of Dolly Parton, she will be incorporating her own experiences and music into the show.
Andrea’s first album of original songs Stormy’s Daughter was recently released and one of the songs will feature in the stage show.
Dolly’s influence on the writing and singing is obvious throughout the album, but especially evident on the bluegrass track Nobody’s Baby – a heartfelt recollection of her less-than-idyllic early life in Sunderland.
The show takes place at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £19 (£17.50 concessions) and are available at the theatre box office on 01383 740 384.
