MATHEW Watt, the maestro behind Mathew Watt Hair, is top of the chops.

The hairdresser has been chosen by Akito Scissors to represent the brand at the Salon International expo in London this month.

Mathew cannot wait to showcase his skills.

He said: “To have the chance to cut hair at the UK’s biggest hairdressing event is amazing.

“This all came about when the guys from Akito Scissors got in touch and asked if I would like to work alongside them and be one of their associates.

“It’s a great opportunity and to work with such an exciting brand is amazing.”

Mathew first got into hairdressing after watching a Lee Stafford programme

He said: “He made it look like such a cool job and an amazing industry to get in to.

“I remember walking into the salon on my first day having no idea what I was doing, but falling in love with it at the same time.”

After his top notch training, Mathew decided to go out on his own and opened a salon in the Scottish capital in 2015.

Mathew promises customers a high-class service.

He said: “They can expect a warm welcome and a team ready to put all into creating their perfect look.

“At the salon we take our time to carry out an in-depth consultation with all our clients, not just getting to know their hair, but also getting to know the individual to create their own bespoke look.

“As well as hair services, we also offer nail services at the salon, which is great as it allows clients to come in and get the two services under one roof. My partner, Alex, runs the nail bar and it’s extremely popular and with over 12 years in the industry, her client base speaks for itself.”

What Jen said: “My experience at Mathew Watt Hair was absolutely top class.

“Mathew offers an impressive service whereby he initially carries out a consultation. This gives you a chance to explain what you like, what you want and what you don’t. It also allows Mathew an opportunity to offer up some suggestions and ideas for your fresh cut.

“You need only look at Mathew’s Instagram feed to see that he is very keen on sharing his training and skills, and explaining how to create certain styles. It’s this type of dedication you can expect when stepping foot through the Edinburgh salon’s doors.

“The salon itself is clean and crisp. As well as hair services, you can also have your nails attended to by Mathew’s partner, Alex. It’s a one-stop shop for all your glamour needs.

“After a mouth-watering latte to welcome me to the salon, I received a flirty new ‘do that freshened up my colour. I can understand why Mathew has been chosen by Akito Scissors to represent their brand at Salon International. He’s a bright star with a lot to offer to the hairdressing industry.”
