SEXUAL HEALTH services in West Fife are to expand, with the opening of a dedicated space within the Queen Margaret Hospital.
The new clinical area, which opens this week, will benefit patients by increasing accessibility to a wider range of services.
Bringing together sexual health services from both Carnegie Clinic and outpatients at Queen Margaret, the new area will provide improved accommodation and increased space, comprising five consultation rooms alongside triage and counselling areas.
Heather Bett, sexual health Fife clinical services manager, said, "This dedicated area within Queen Margaret allows us to improve and build on the sexual health services that are already provided in West Fife.
"The number of clinical rooms that were previously available at Carnegie Clinic will be more than doubled, meaning that we are able to offer even more appointments throughout the week.
"A broad range of sexual health services from Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) screening and contraception advice to the wider Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) services will now be available under the one roof, allowing us to expand the accessibility of our services.
"In the coming months we are looking to build further on the sexual health services we provide at Queen Margaret, including plans for dedicated clinics for men." Sexual Health Fife provides a range of sexual health and Blood Borne Virus (BBV) services, through drop-in clinics and booked appointments.
