Marstons Inns and Taverns were granted planning permission by Fife Council to develop a 26-bedroom hotel along with the 180-seat pub and restaurant, which will create 45 jobs.

The owners of the ‘Sweet Chestnut’, which is scheduled to open on 16th June, say that work on the site located on empty land between Dobbies and the Odeon cinema is “progressing well” but that they have “no immediate plans for the construction of the hotel”.

Nigel Whitfield, Marston’s area operations manager for Scotland, continued, “We believe that it will offer a different alternative to customers that currently exists on the park.

“We’re very excited about the opportunity here and hope that when opened it will build a great reputation locally, offering top-quality, value-for-money pub food and an unrivalled selection of drinks, including cask ales.” The restaurant, that will provide car parking, cycle spaces and landscaping, will have additional outside terraces and garden areas and offer a carvery for customers while serving food from its main pub menu all day, every day.

They are currently looking for an assistant manager, head chef and second chef in preparation for opening and anyone who is interested should visit http://www.marstonsinns.co.uk/employment-or-recruitment-query to apply.
