SHOPPERS were turned away after a power cut forced Tesco's Dunfermline store to shut yesterday (Thursday).
The store, in Duloch Park, was closed for around two hours following the blackout at around 1.30pm.
Signs were put up in-store informing customers that meat and poultry had to be removed from the shelves due to the cut.
Brenda Cox, the store's personnel manager, said, “An electrical surge knocked out our power so we had to close for two hours from around 1.30pm.
“Customers who were in-store at the time were given help to complete their shopping but we made sure that no one was rushed out the door.
“We’d like to apologise to our shoppers but also thank them for being so patient and understanding – they were brilliant!” Tesco's petrol station is currently shut for extension work to be carried out.
