Inverkeithing High School pupils handed over cheques for £2000 each to the Cookie Jar Foundation and Mary’s Meals after raising money over the academic year of 2013 and 2014.

Cheques were presented by headteacher Iain Yuile, head girl Ailidh Ramsay and head boy Stuart Thomson.

Steven Coutts accepted a cheque for £2000 as a representative and family member of the Cookie Jar Foundation.

The work that the charity carries out represents the personality of Christopher ‘Cookie’ Coutts, a former pupil who died at the age of 19 after a valiant fight with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer.

Jackie Brown also accepted a cheque for £2000 as manager of Mary’s Meals, Inverkeithing.

Mary’s Meals is a global movement that sets up school-feeding projects in some of the world’s poorest countries, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education.
