A DUNFERMLINE photographer is delighted to finally be able to showcase his work in his home town thanks to the Fire Station Creative.

Brian Knight, 57, of Whyte Walk, has been snapping for about 12 years and what started off as a hobby has now become a business, as well as an opportunity to showcase his work. He takes stunning night-time photos out in the countryside and his exhibition, Scotland’s Sky at Night, is currently running at the new galleries on Carnegie Drive.

“I had an exhibition in Glenrothes last year and I wanted to do one in Dunfermline but there was nowhere,” he said. “When the Fire Station Creative opened I sent an e-mail to Ian Moir and he was keen on the idea.

“I think something like this was definitely needed in Dunfermline, it’s really good.”

The exhibition is made up of colourful and eye-catching vistas, with Brian capturing vivid images of stars in the darkness. A private viewing was held earlier this month and it is now open to the public, running until tomorrow (Sunday).

“The feedback has been really good, lots of people have been interested and asking about the photos,” he said. “There are pictures of the Milky Way, the aurora, meteorites with landmarks in the foreground. It’s places where people who live in towns with light pollution don’t often get to see. A lot of work and time and effort goes into it. You have to travel a long way and you can never guarantee the Scottish weather! But it’s rewarding when you get the images.”

To catch the exhibition before it ends on Sunday, visit the Fire Station Creative, open 10am-5pm (11am-4pm Sunday).
