TRIBUTES have poured in for an “amazing” Crossgates biker who died in a horror crash just three months after getting married.

Friends and family have gone online to offer comfort and express sorrow over the tragic death of Blue Angels motorcyclist Zak Watson, 31, who died after a collision with a Ford Transit van on the A907 at Bogside last Thursday.

In April, the Press told you how Zak and wife Michelle, 33, tied the knot in Dunfermline to the roar of 50 motorcycles, when fellow bikers turned up to help celebrate their big day.

In a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook, Michelle wrote: “I have lost my soulmate, the man I was to spend the rest of my life with.

“Zak was the most amazing guy I've ever met. We loved each other more than words can say.

“I just cannot believe this is happening. Words cannot describe the pain I feel in my heart right now.

“Thank you to everyone for their kind words. Means a lot at this time.”

Michelle thanked everyone who had offered condolences, saying: “To know so many people are thinking of me is a comfort. This is the darkest I've ever felt.

“I didn't know it was this possible to feel so much pain in my heart. My heart is broken and I don't know if it'll will ever mend.”

A notice in this week's Press paid tribute to Zak as the “beloved husband of Michelle, also a loving father, son, brother and uncle”, adding: “Zak will be so sadly missed by all his family and friends.”

An “absolutely devastated” Grant Hutton wrote on Facebook: “Zak was one of my best mates from school and although we didn't see each other much nowadays, we both knew if we ever needed anything we would be there in a heartbeat.

“Zak will be missed by many and no words can describe how much he meant to those closest to him.”

Leah Wood posted: “Zak was an amazing guy and a gem to have known and will always be in our hearts,” while Natasha Halkett wrote: “Zak was one is a million, he was a loving, caring guy.”

Mowrie Kelly penned: “He was an amazing man, a great friend to my boy. His smile is irreplaceable. Take comfort in how much he loved you and his family in the dark days now and to come.”

The accident occurred around 7.05pm on July 14, west of Devilla Quarry.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the road was shut for around five-and-a-half hours while road police officers carried out investigations.

Zak's funeral will be held on Saturday in Dunfermline's Glen Pavilion at 10am.
