Police who are searching for missing RAF gunner Corrie McKeague, say they have received useful information following a CCTV appeal in Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Police set up a 'pod' in the town centre last Thursday and Friday where people queued up to view CCTV footage from September 24.

They helped officers trace the final 20 people seen on camera on the night the 23-year-old went missing.

Det Supt Katie Elliott said: “The police pod was very successful attracting a huge response from the local community and we are grateful to everyone who took the time to come and view the CCTV.

“This has resulted in us being provided with several pieces of information which we believe should assist with identifying a number of the people seen in the footage and this work is ongoing.”

Corrie, who is from Dunfermline, disappeared after a night out in Bury St Edmunds 10 weeks ago.

The RAF serviceman who is based in Honington was last seen on CCTV walking along Brentgovel Street at 03.25am on September 24.

Specialist Police have checked 1,100 hours of CCTV but have failed to find any later images of him.

It is thought they may have left the area after data showed that Corrie's phone moved from Bury St Edmunds to Barton Mills that morning but police are yet to find the phone.
