THERE are new development plans for Pattiesmuir with an application for eight homes.

Broomhall Home Farm Partnership, who are also involved in proposals to build 2,150 new houses on Lord Elgin’s land to the south-west of Dunfermline, own three separate parcels of land in the hamlet.

As well as erecting new homes, the plan is to alter, improve and extend the internal road serving Pattiesmuir, carry out drainage works and create a parking area.

Part of the front garden of Kilberry Cottage, also owned by the applicants, would be used for the improved ‘western visibility splay’ onto the A985.

A conservation area, Pattiesmuir is situated to the west of Rosyth and accessed off the A985 road.

A number of objections and letters of support have been submitted to Fife Council in relation to the latest plan – a previous application for nine homes was withdrawn in December.

Agents for the partnership said: “The proposals comply with Scottish planning policy and would result in improvements to the road serving Pattiesmuir and the junction onto the A985.

“The provision of visitor parking spaces will benefit the community’s use of The College and create off-street parking space for existing and future residents.

“Satisfactory drainage proposals have been put forward which comply with SEPA’s requirements and the development parcels within the application site are not subject to flood risk.”
