DUNFERMLINE's property market bucked the trend according to latest figures by showing a decline in prices.
In the period from January until March this year, the average house price in the Dunfermline area was £150,906 which was 3.1 per cent less than it was over the same period in 2016.
The latest figures show that the average time to sell a property in Dunfermline had increased to 40 days – nine days more than last year's results.
The Dunfermline results were not mirrored in other areas in east central Scotland which, as a whole, saw a 5.7 per cent increase in average selling prices to £217,455.
The increase was, however, reflected in house sales in the West Fife and Kinross area where the average house price was £153,783, a 3.3 per cent improvement compared to the same period last year.
The time to sell a house also improved with the average sale taking 34 days which was four days quicker than in 2016.
