WEST Fife rail-users are being asked to help trace two men who threatened and abused a train conductor between Dalmeny and North Queensferry last month.

British Transport Police are investigating the incident which happened on March 18 at 6.25pm on board the 6.25pm Edinburgh Waverley to Glenrothes service.

The train conductor was checking tickets when the men became verbally abusive and threatening towards the conductor.

The train conductor refused them further travel and asked them to get off at the next station which they did.

As the men were leaving, they again became abusive and threatening to the train conductor.

Investigating officer DC Donna Davanna said they were keen to speak to anyone who was travelling on the service at this time.

"If you witnessed this incident please get in contact," she said. "Everyone has the right to travel and work without the fear or crime and intimidation.”

The first man is described as 26 years old with short brown hair, a thick beard, stocky build. He was wearing a blue t-shirt with light writing on the front, blue jeans and had a green coloured parker with fur on the hood.

The second man has been described as a 56 year old, short grey/black speckled hair, light brown coloured checked shirt and was wearing denim jeans.
