THE gym at Duloch Leisure Centre in Dunfermline will close for three weeks for a "significant refurbishment".

It's due to shut from Monday July 31 to Thursday August 17 with customers encouraged to use facilities at Cowdenbeath or Carnegie while it's out of action.

The centre is part of the Duloch community campus which also includes the library, Duloch Primary School and Calaiswood School.

James Dunbar, area leisure manager for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “The scheduled refit of the gym is great news for customers who will benefit from the installation of state-of-the-art Technogym and Origin fitness equipment as well as a fresh interior thanks to redecoration of floor and walls.

“The trust chose to undertake the works during the summer as this is a traditionally quieter time and less disruptive to customers.

"The works to Duloch are being carried out as part of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) schools lifecycle budget and are coinciding with wider upgrade plans.

“Customers are being encouraged to use Carnegie Leisure Centre during the closure and we will be keeping customers up to date with the progress of works via our website and social media.

"We are confident users will be delighted with the upgrade to their gym.”
