CROSSGATES Gala could end this weekend after the village's events committee called a crisis meeting.
Posters have been put up urging volunteers to step forward on Sunday, with a warning that the gala won't run next year if new members aren't found.
The notice from Crossgates Events Committee says: "It is with a heavy heart that we must notify our community of the proposed dissolution of Crossgates Events Committee.
“Due to the poor turn out at the annual general meeting it was agreed that the committee cannot continue and therefore must be dissolved.
“Unless willing bodies, in particular a chairperson, step forward our gala will fold at this meeting.”
The meeting takes place on Sunday at 3pm in the Crystal Bar on Main Street.
The gala has been running now for several years but chairperson Barry Tillier announced before the July event that he was having to stand down.
