STAGECOACH will run four new luxury coaches on the Express route connecting Dunfermline and Glasgow Airport.

The buses will operate on the X24 service which was extended last year to operate hourly between Halbeath Park & Ride, Dunfermline, Kincardine, Glasgow city centre, Braehead Shopping Centre and Glasgow Airport.

The new coaches have a range of modern features including reclining leather seats, USB power sockets, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi access, large luggage lockers and a toilet on board.

Last November the company invested £1 million into three new coaches on the route to meet demand and have now spent another £1.32m on the four buses.

Stagecoach said the new Plaxton Elite coaches have been branded as 'Express JET Connect' to be easily recognisable and will be in service in time for journeys to Glasgow Airport during the October school holidays.

Paul Thomas, managing director of Stagecoach East Scotland, said: "The direct link to Glasgow Airport from Fife has been welcomed by our customers and I'm sure the four brand new coaches to be used on this route will be warmly welcomed too."

Journeys from Fife to Glasgow Airport run from 3.48am every day and the last journey returns from the airport at 10.35pm.
