A GLASGOW charity – set up to ensure all refugees are welcomed to the city – has been robbed.

Posting a video on Refuweegee’s Facebook page, the charity’s Selina Hales said: “It’s not often we do grumpy posts, but this is definitely going to be a grumpy post so be warned.”

On Tuesday, while loading donations into a van for a pop-up event in Govan, a thief walked into the office at The Briggait and stole items on the desk, including an iPad, the keyboard, chargers, and a staff member’s purse among other things.

Earlier this year, Evening Times Scotswoman of the Year finalist Hales, who set up Refuweegee, won the Individual Award at our Glasgow Community Champions Awards event.

If you have information in respect to the theft, or are offered an iPad with the charity’s website on the back, please call 101.
