A MAN has been arrested and charged after drugs valued at £6,400 were recovered from a house in Dunfermline.
Police Scotland have confirmed that officers from the Community Investigation Unit (CIU) executed a search warrant at an address in Alexandra Street yesterday (Thursday) and seized a number of cannabis plants.
The 65-year-old was detained and charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act as part of the ongoing Operation Prospect campaign and is scheduled to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court at a later date.
Sergeant Neil McGurk, from Dunfermline CIU, said: "Operation Prospect focusses on targeting the misuse of drugs in Fife with the campaign already resulting in a number of arrests and harmful substances being seized from the area.
"We are committed to tackling the misuse of drugs and will work with our partners to bring offenders before the courts.
"Anyone wishing to report ongoing drug crime can do so by calling us on 101 or by making an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
