A CROSSFORD pensioner was left "shaken and distressed" as she was forced into her home by a knife-wielding man who then robbed her.

The woman, 76, was approached at around 11pm on Friday, May 5 outside her property on Lundin Road.

She was forced into the house by the man who then stole jewellery and a number of cameras from her.

The suspect is described as around 5 foot 8, of a slim build, with short fair to medium-coloured hair and with a strong foreign accent.

Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan from Dunfermline CID said: "This is a despicable robbery of an elderly woman, which left her very shaken and distressed.

"Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around Lundin Road on Friday evening or in the days beforehand should contact police immediately.

"I believe the suspect may be from the West Fife area or has connections to the area and would ask members of the public who recognise the description of the suspect or has any information regarding this crime to contact police.

“We would also ask members of the public who are approached by a male matching the description of the suspect, who attempts to sell on jewellery or cameras, not to purchase these goods and report the matter to us."

Those with information can contact Dunfermline CID via 101 and quote incident number 99 of the 5th May. Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
