A TEAM of Royal Navy sailors in Rosyth will be walking in the moonlight for charity next month.

The nine-strong squad from MoD Caledonia are set to take part in this year’s MoonWalk Scotland event in Edinburgh on June 9.

Organised by breast-cancer charity, Walk the Walk, the event sees thousands of women and men taking to the capital’s streets at midnight in decorated bras as they bid to raise money and awareness to fight breast cancer.

Charlotte Hardman, of the Tata Jack team at Rosyth, said: “We were thinking of completing some form of challenge together and we were inspired to compete in the Walk the Walk by another member of the Royal Navy who has beaten breast cancer and has completed The MoonWalk previously.

“We have a strong team bond and regularly complete lunchtime circuit training together and are taking part in training walks together.

“We have had a few ideas with regard to decorating the bras – some suggesting red and green for port and starboard – carrying on the naval theme.”
