The Press reported in last week's edition of plans for a new cafe outside the Kingsgate Shopping Centre in premises once occupied by McDonald's.
The first two photographs in this week's trip down Memory Lane were taken in the early 1990's and show the High Street at that time, with two major burger chains directly opposite each other in the centre of the town and just before pedestrianisation of the main thoroughfare in the town centre.
The next two images are of two old postcards featuring Pittencrieff Park, the first showing the approach to the statue of Andrew Carnegie, who gifted the park to the people of Dunfermline.
The second image is described as the 'Duck Pond'.
More photographs like these can also be seen at facebook.com/olddunfermline as well as in Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries.
