The annual Alhambra Theatre Summer School has just concluded for 2018 with around 70 kids from across Fife treading the boards.

The participants spent two weeks at the Dunfermline venue learning key stage skills in acting, singing and dancing, culminating in two performances on the stage on Saturday.

During the fortnight, a team of theatre industry professionals taught the children songs and short excerpts from shows and films such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Grease, The Greatest Showman and Les Misérables, to name but a few.

The theatre workshop ended with the performances on the Alhambra stage. Dunfermline councillor Alan Craig then presented the children with graduation scrolls.

The Alhambra Theatre is opening its doors to the public for a behind the scenes tour.

As part next month’s Outwith Festival, the venue will be inviting visitors behind the curtain.

The workings of the theatre will be revealed and Limelight Productions will be performing an open rehearsal of West Side Story.

There will also be the chance to visit the proposed Ironmongers Studio site and learn about the plans for a new stage school and performance centre.

All ages are welcomed with under-16s to be accompanied by an adult.

The open day takes place on Sunday, September 9 at 11am.
