Tributes have been made to a Saline woman who died in a house fire.
It's understood that neighbours tried to rescue the woman from a two-storey house on Easter Craig Gardens on Friday night, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
She has been named locally as 55-year-old Gail Lamb.
Floral tributes to her have been laid outside the home.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted at 10.42 on Friday August 24 to reports of a dwelling fire in Saline, Fife.
“Operations control mobilised three appliances to the two-storey property, which was well alight.”
It is understood the fire is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “An investigation into the cause of the fire has commenced and is at an early stage.”
More to follow in Thursday's Press.
