DINERS in Dunfermline have received a pizza good news after a revamped taste of Italy opened for business.
Casa Mia, which was formerly Ciao Italia on Nethertown Broad Street, welcomed its first customers on Sunday following its takeover by head chef Fabio Teti, and his parents, Silvana and Giuseppe.
Taking its name from the Italian for 'my house', the restaurant showcases food from the family's home region of Campania, the capital of which is Naples, and has been given a fresh look inside and out.
Fabio, who retained staff from Ciao Italia for the new venture, is sourcing many ingredients for his menu, which features weekly meat and fish specials, and traditional Neapolitan dishes, from a supplier in his home town of Alife, which is close to the coastal holiday spot of Amalfi.
A custom-built pizza oven has also been installed, and he said: "We are delighted to present this new look and have the restaurant back open and running within a short timeframe.
"The new oven is fantastic and we are already loving using it and preparing the freshest, traditional oven-baked pizzas. We held a soft launch event and the feedback on our new look has been very positive.
"We are now fully open serving our new menu, and look forward to welcoming customers old and new.
"We are all so excited about running this business together, and sharing our unique food heritage."
