LONDON rockers False Heads have hit the road in celebration of their new EP.

Less is Better will drop on September 21. Ahead of its release, the band promise a night to remember in the city.

Frontman Luke Griffiths told the Evening Times: “Yes, we're coming back north of the border again. We can't wait for the Classic Grand. Scottish crowds are always brilliant, always busy and always raring to go.

“The crowd can expect high energy, high intensity, possibly blood and possibly something broken, and hopefully, fans will join in.”

The trio – guitarist Luke along with bassist Jake Elliot and drummer Barney Nash – previously performed in Kilmarnock with The Libertines.

Luke added: “That was an incredible experience.

“It's an odd one, supporting bands that big though. You have to work really hard to win the crowd over. People are pottering in and out and are only there for the headline band, so you have to win them over at every minute.

“I think we did by the end of it. We got a good reception.”

As well as Glasgow, the boys’ mammoth UK and European tour will take in cities like Leeds, Liverpool, London, Paris and Hamburg.

Luke said: “Being on the road is great.

“It can be stressful and tiring, but it's worth it and you'll find ways to keep yourself occupied, which are often some of the funniest bits.

“You're playing your music to people, it's what it's all about, it's brilliant. Nothing you can really complain about.”

The band’s standout gigs this year include their headline show at Dingwalls in Camden Town and supporting Queens of the Stone Age at the InMusic Festival in Croatia.

Luke said: “They were both incredible for different reasons.

“Dingwalls just felt like we'd arrived as a band to pack out that venue and playing the main stage before a band like Queens of the Stone Age at such a huge festival felt like we could do what we do on any stage, so it was extremely affirming for us.”

The band – who have garnered the support of Iggy Pop and ex-Ramones manager Danny Fields – have been turning heads with their post-punk sounds.

Their new EP, which follows hot on the heels of their incredible single Yellow, is shaping up to be an absolute beauty.

Luke said: “Yellow gives people a taste of what you're going to get.

“There are poppier elements and there are some heavy elements and weird twists and turns, which I think Yellow does nicely in one track. You'll get more of that on the EP.

“We spent a lot of time on it, we recorded a lot of demos and we're thinking about the album so it's sort of the cream of what we've got at the moment. Well, that's what we think – it might end up being torn to pieces.”

In the coming months the band promise more shows and more music.

Luke added: “Next year will be a big year, so just wait and see.”
