A KELTY man who assaulted his former partner has been sentenced to 100 hours of unpaid work.
Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard that Allan Shields was currently already placed on a community payback order which includes him engaging in a domestic abuse group work programme.
Shields, 37, of Oak Street, Kelty, previously admitted that on November 22, 2017 at St Leonard's Street, Dunfermline, he did assault his former partner and did seize her by the body, repeatedly push her on the body and cause her to fall to the ground.
Defence solicitor, Aime Allan, said her client seemed to be engaging with the current community payback order and that alcohol consumption had been problematic for him with regards to this offence.
"He accepts that it is not an excuse for his behaviour but it provides an explanation," she said.
"The relationship has ended because of this incident."
